Reflexology for BETTER Health
Reflexology has been successful in treating:
- Headaches and backaches
- Respiratory ailments
- Sports injuries
- High blood pressure
- Weight problems
- Poor blood circulation
“Reflexology is a technique of applying a gentle pressure on your feet in order to stimulate the body’s own healing ability and bring about perfect balance in body, mind and spirit”
The feet are a perfect mini-map of the whole body. All the organs, glands and body parts correspond to the reflex points on the feet. By applying a gentle pressure on those points we balance the whole body and stimulate its own healing ability.
Reflexology alleviates the affects of stress by inducing deep relaxation, placing us in a "safe space", and allowing the nervous system to calm down and function more normally. Circulation proceeds smoothly, blood flow is improved, and oxygen reaches all the cells. We are no longer stressed. The body finds homeostasis and the healing takes place. The person experiences a sense of well-being at all levels.
"Most of us live in the sea of noise, deadlines, interruptions, worries, responsibilities and distractions. Reflexology provides a quite island in the course of each day where we can stop the commotion, take stock of what is really important, and renew ourselves so we can return to our busy worlds with more energy and enthusiasm. Reflexology can be the first step in discovering other ways to live happier and healthier lives."
What reflexology is not
There is a lot of misinformation about reflexology. In general, reflexology is not a foot massage and it is not a medical treatment. Reflexologists do not diagnose illness, nor do they practice medicine. Only licensed physicians are allowed to do that according to law. When practiced in conjunction with sound medical advice from the physician, reflexology facilitates healing.
Training, qualifications & experience
Qualifications: Diploma in Reflexology obtained with London School of Reflexology in 2004.
Experience: Since I qualified as a reflexologist I have been working constantly in this field. From my professional experience I have observed that once the clients are introduced into reflexology and receive the treatment, they love it and want to continue with it regularly, which creates a wonderful ritual in their lives which regenerates and renews them, and they look very much forward to it every week.
As a result of this reflexology gives them the opportunity to discover other ways to live happier and healthier lives. I have recently been working part time with my course tutor at his clinic in Covent Garden, with yoga teacher in Highgate, and with beauty salon in Tufnell Park where I deliver reflexology to their clients. I also treat patients in Croftdown Rd, NW5.
