Jo is a Reiki Master Practitioner - Third Degree and has been practising throughout South Gloucestershire since 2009. She specialises in providing Reiki therapy treatments with a calm pair of hands and, in doing so, helps people to find some much needed relaxation and quiet time. Reiki quite literally means "Universal Life Force Energy", an energy that flows through all living things. This energy has many different names and can be known as "Ki", "Chi", "Prana" etc.
When we are ill or stressed, this flow of energy can diminish or become blocked.
“We live in a constant field of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things. When this energy flows uninterrupted there is balance and harmony within and around us, and we experience a sense of well-being – Reiki is a system of rebalancing and supporting that energy”. – UK Reiki Association.
Reiki therapy is an ancient Japanese art, a subtle yet powerful system of natural healing that can help provide support on both a physical and a mental level. It can be used as a preventative measure as it has a cumulative effect, or simply as an occasional relaxing treat. Here are just some of the therapeutic benefits of Reiki treatments:
- Reduced stress levels, tension and anxiety
- Acceleration of the body’s natural healing process
- A feeling of inner calm, contentment and serenity
- Positivity and increased levels of confidence
- Balance, harmony, clarity and focus in daily living
- A Self-love and compassion towards others
Reiki treatment sessions take approximately an hour and are carried out in a beautifully appointed, quiet and peaceful room.
