Silk House Therapy Practice
19 Church Street
I am a fully qualified and accredited Body Psychotherapist and Biodynamic Massage Therapist. I offer biodynamic massage as part of a psychotherapeutic process.
Biodynamic Massage was developed by Gerda Boyesen, a clinical psychologist and physiotherapist, who became interested in the effects of massage on people's mental health.
It is a form of massage that addresses both the body and the mind. We use a wide range of techniques; each technique has a very different intention. The therapist selects the technique(s) best suited to meet the emotional and physical needs of each client.
Touch in biodynamic massage is an invitation to engage in a deeper relationship with our self.
The biodynamic massage therapist and client work together in an atmosphere of curiosity, awareness and acceptance to invite a natural movement towards health and wholeness.
Some of the intentions of biodynamic massage are:
- bringing the nervous system into balance
- releasing habitual holding patterns
- toning and strengthening frozen or collapsed tissues
- restoring free and spontaneous breath
- making the body a stronger container for emotional and energetic charge
Benefits may include:
- deeper relaxation, letting go of tension and worry
- more balanced emotionally and able to cope with life's ups and downs
- relief from chronic symptoms such as headaches, tension, pain, digestive problems, insomnia
- a greater connection, value and trust in our bodies
- increased energy and zest for life.

I am accredited by the UKCP.
My approach is influenced by my Elemental Chi Kung practice (Teacher Training with The College of Elemental Chi Kung) and Vipassana meditation.
