We are experienced teachers of the Alexander Technique, qualified by the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique, which is the oldest and most widely recognised qualifying body for Alexander Teachers in this country. We are conveniently located for most of Central and West London in Kensington and Chelsea, just off the Old Brompton Road, SW5 (Gloucester Road is the nearest tube station). We teach from our home clinic which is a large, light room with rooftop views.
Training, qualifications & experience
Both members of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT). This is the largest regulatory body for the Alexander Technique and was founded in 1958. Membership of STAT means that we are properly qualified having both completed a full time 3 year training course; and are subject to a code of professional conduct and are insured.
Jean and Harvy are very experienced Alexander teachers, qualifying respectively in 1989 and 1986. Prior to his Alexander training Harvy gained a First Class Honours degree in History, and since qualifying has developed his interest in health and healing by training in Counselling Skills and Acupuncture. Jean has an Honours degree in English and further training in Counselling skills. She is an Antenatal Teacher, Birth Doula and is qualified in various holistic therapies specialising in pre and postnatal health.
Harvy and Jean have a teaching room on the upper floor of their maisonette in South Kensington. This is a large, light and quiet room with beautiful rooftop views.
