I trained in holistic therapeutic massage with The Sheffield Centre for Massage Training and am a registered practitioner with the Massage Training Institute. My background is in counselling and meditation and I have enjoyed working as a therapist for 20 years. I am a practising Buddhist.
In massage my intention is to treat a person on all levels of their being:- on a physical level, encouraging the release of tension in muscles and joints; on an emotional level, relieving stress and strain, and encouraging feelings of ease, joy and wellbeing.
For those who are interested in getting to know their body in more depth, I offer massage therapy combined with Focusing. This is a more subtle approach to bodywork which helps us to listen and communicate with our body from the inside so it can find its own way of healing. A massage and focusing session usually includes some dialogue.
