Pregnancy massage is safe from the first trimester, helping to relax and treat pregnancy related ailments such as carpal tunnel syndrome, oedema (swelling) and soothe achey backs and hips. Treatments are given in a comfortable, side lying position from the second trimester onwards.
Swedish massage is a popular treatment that works the muscles and soft tissues of the body at your desired level of pressure. It promotes relaxation, as knots of tension are slowly released and circulation is improved. It's a great first treatment to try if you haven't had a massage before.
Deep Tissue Massage
Working on the deeper muscles and tissue layers, deep tissue massage is a stronger treatment perfect for targeting specific problem areas. Pressure is applied slowly and always within your comfort levels. Great for treating chronic tension and pain, repetitive strain issues and recovery from injuries.
If you have been diagnosed with or suspect you may have a pre-existing medical condition you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies, treatments or making any major changes in your diet or exercise programme.
