About me

Bowen therapy is a soft tissue remedial therapy that involves the therapist using fingers or thumbs to move over muscle, ligament, tendon and fascia in various parts of the body. This therapy can be effective to help relieve everyday stresses and revitalize the whole person. Each Bowen therapy session varies according to the particular problems of the client. By focusing on the lower and mid back, legs, the upper back. shoulders and the neck, a sense of well-being can be achieved, helping relaxation, aiding sleep - helping to remove everyday stress and anxiety that can make us feel under-par or prevent us functioning at our optimum.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified in the Bowen Technique in June 2008, after training with the European College of Bowen Studies.

I'm a full member of the Bowen Therapist Professional Association. Please refer to the Bowen Studies link on the BTPA website www.bowentherapy.org.uk to read some of the studies on the effectiveness of Bowen Therapy for conditions such as: back pain, repetitive strain injury, knee and ankle pain, asthma, migraine, shoulder and neck pain.

I am also registered with CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council); CNHC is the UK regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners. Its key function is to enhance public protection by setting standards for registration.

I keep my qualifications up to date by regularly taking training days to enhance my knowledge of Bowen.
