As an Osteopath I am trained in the diagnosis, treatment and management of health conditions which affect the musculoskeletal system of the body. With detailed questioning and careful examination of the body I aim to discover the underlying cause of any pain, discomfort or loss of function that you may be experiencing.
I have been highly trained in using manual therapy to help the body relax, release areas of tension and improve the health of joints, muscles, nerve supply and more. This form of treatment can also have the effect of improving energy levels and increasing the overall sense of wellbeing.
I tend to use a range of techniques including gentle mobilisation, manipulation, stretching, and cranial osteopathy.
Conditions commonly seen by osteopaths include low back pain, neck pain, headaches, shoulder injuries, repetitive strain injuries, pelvic pain due to musculoskeletal issues. If you are unsure whether your condition is suitable for treatment by an osteopath please contact me to find out more.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Masters Degree in Osteopathy which I obtained from the British School of Osteopathy.
I have also been awarded a postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy which involved training at the internationally recognised Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy in London over two years.
I have completed further courses in Cranial Osteopathy with the Sutherland Cranial College and in Biodynamic Osteopathy with the Biodynamics of Osteopathy faculty.
I hold a Level 3 certificate in Sports Massage therapy.
I have worked with a very wide range of people, from pregnant women to office workers, babies and toddlers to the elderly, those with long term, chronic issues to those who have had a recent injury.
I am fully insured with and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.
