What to expect
The first few session may take a longer time, and best to not have anything strenuous to do after. My advice would be to come later in the day (for the first few) so you can go and rest after, some clients go home and sleep, this is because the body, mind and soul has had a lot of movement over the Reiki session so many of us just need to let it settle, and sleep usually does the trick.
Reiki has no pattern it does what you need, I work like a conductor holding the Reiki Energy and your body will tell me where you need it most. Some people feel pulsing, tingling, heat or cold, some feel emotional, some feel nothing most feel very relaxed in a bubble of warmth and comfort, under a soft blanket with relaxing music and enjoy the Reiki experience.
Be assured that whatever happens in the time you are with me it stays confidential at all times.
Training, qualifications & experience
When I started with Reiki In 1992 I was first induced to the Western Reiki that was used in the US and came over here in the late 80s. My first encounter was in Glastonbury, I was living close by and met a great guy called James who introduced me to Reiki. After my experience with the Reiki energy I knew this was what I wanted to do so did my Reiki 1,2 and Master in the Western system. I practiced at home in Somerset for several years , then as life does things changed and I moved to the Midlands and helped my husband run his very busy event management business, so although Reiki was with me time was not.
I then started to hear about the Usui Original form of Reiki and thought I should be retuned, and wow what an experience, similar to Western but so much, easier to connect with, so I'm now using the Usui and practicing the very lovely and gentle teaching and work most days on making my connection stronger and purer. To say it's magic is the only way I can explain in my own words, as it just feels so right, and gives me a smile every day.
We can chat about fees when we have spoken . I have a fee structure that feels fair and flexible.
The original Japanese form of Reiki is very different from the way that it has ended up being practiced in the West. The thing that strikes me most about original Usui Reiki is the fact that it is so simple, so elegant, powerful and uncluttered. The system is not bogged down in endless mechanical techniques and complex rituals that now clutter up most of Western-style Reiki, with endless rules and regulations and restrictions.
The prime focus of Mikao Usui's Reiki was the personal benefits that would come through committing oneself to working with the system, in terms of self-healing and spiritual development. Reiki was a path to enlightenment. Healing others was a minor aspect of the system, not emphasised, not focused upon; it was simply something that you could do if you followed Usui’s system.
Original Usui Reiki involved committing yourself to carrying out daily energy exercises, self-healings, and receiving spiritual empowerments on a regular basis. You received training in an open ended fashion, rather like the way that martial arts is taught in the West today: you kept turning up and slowly developing your skills, and when it was thought that you had progressed sufficiently, you were allowed to move on to the next level.
The system was rooted in Tendai Buddhism and Shintoism, with Tendai Buddhism providing spiritual teachings and Shintoism contributing methods of controlling and working with the energies. The whole system was based on living and practicing the Reiki precepts:
Just for today,
Do not anger,
Do not worry
Be honest in your dealings with other people
Be compassionate towards yourself and others
