Physiotherapy Services are offered from 4 locations, one in Ainsdale, one in Formby, one in Altrincham and one in Chorley. The Director and Practice Principal, David Gibbons, has been training and working in physiotherapy for 23 years and has an excellent training background from 8 years in the NHS. David is a highly trained physiotherapist at Masters Level, with membership of the elite "MACP" - Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. He is also a fully registered acupuncturist, a member of The Health and Care Professions Council and The CSP.
David is committed to lifelong learning and continuing professional development. He uses an and evidence based approach in the clinical diagnosis he makes and treatment plan he creates.
The main emphasis and difference with the practice is that treatment consists, in the most part, of manual therapy to help get tight or stiff body parts moving again, which are invariably the cause of the presenting pains. This is something that medication and machines alone can not do.
The cause of the pain is removed and not just the symptoms. For this purpose, David's training in manual therapy is very comprehensive, consisting of the membership of the MACP, training with dual qualified consultant physiotherapists/osteopaths and excellent manual therapy grounding from Sheffield Hallam University and St Helens & Knowsley NHS Trust.
The clinic delivers comprehensive physiotherapy services to insurance clients, commercial intermediaries, occupational health departments in industry, consultants, GP's as well as the local population, which are designed to suit any budget for everyone. With a private treatment centre, the business also has an expert clinician enabling clients to get moving better again and live life without pain.
Dave Gibbons is a versatile chartered neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapist, whose knowledge, experience and interest is focused on innovative practice techniques grounded in Maitland, Cyriax, McKenzie, Butler and Mulligan amongst others. NHS Practice, Private Practice, Postgraduate training, ongoing CPD, lifelong learning and professional affiliations have created a multi-disciplined individual with extensive knowledge in sports related injuries, whiplash, occupational health and all musculoskeletal complaints.
Dave provides an improvement in quality of life for clients, which is corroborated by a growing reputation in the local area. Client needs are always at the forefront of any treatment plans but are linked to best practice techniques and well-being.
Dave has strong interpersonal skills which are needed when dealing with the public within a private yet busy Physiotherapy practice. Dave adopts a holistic and bio psychosocial approach to client assessment and treatment, ensuring the client returns to form in all areas of their life. Dave treats the person, not just the condition.
