In The Breathing Space is a home based massage therapy practice, located in Greenwich.
The focus of the massages provided is to de-stress, relax, reduce tension as well as reducing pain and anxiety. Moreover massage can rejuvenate, improve mental clarity and increase energy levels. All this so you can be happy, and if you are happy then the world's a better place...
Deep Tissue massage: I practice deep tissue No Hands massage which is a more powerful approach to massage than standard deep tissue massage whilst still being soft and gentle. No Hands massage feels more comforting and enveloping than most and can address structural issues as well as issues of the body/mind relationship. I practice at the advanced level of this new approach to massage.
I have had really good result working with sportsmen/woman to ease post work out muscle soreness and to loosen tight muscles. Equally, I have had good results addressing stress related issues, muscle tension and back, shoulder and neck pains.
Aromatherapy: I will select a blend of organic essential oils according to your chosen massage:
To free up your spine, neck , legs and hips. This is a powerful massage loved by gym goers and sports people.
This massage envelops you in flowing, soothing strokes -the ultimate in relaxation. Pefect if you're suffering from exhaustion and need time to replenish and recharge. Helps you reconnect mind and body once again
A uniquely gentle and naturopathic massage concentrating on your colon, allowing the muscles of this major elimination organ to regain helath and balance naturally. This is combined with a foot massage to further help the detoxification process by triggering key reflex points.
Bespoke Aromatherapy: As a Clinical Aromatherapist I can also create a blend of organic essential oils to suit your individual needs. My Aromatherapy training allows me to safely select the essential oils using a Traditional Chinese Medicine approach in order to make the best use of the energetic aspects of those wonderful natural essences.
Craniosacral Therapy: Craniosacral Therapy treatments can benefit everyone regardless of their age and for this reason I treat everyone. However, I have decided to specialise in working with babies, children and their parents as it helps me develop specific skills otherwise more difficult to hone in.
Thai Massage: Vastly different from what we in the west usually recognise as massage, Thai Massage is a form of body work which is practised fully clothed on a floor mat. The practitioner uses his feet, hands, thumbs, knees, elbows and whole body to gently move, pull, stretch and work the energy lines of the body. As tight muscles, shoulder, low back, hip and knee problems can be addressed, so too can issues affecting internal organs. Freeing ourselves from tensions generally alleviates stress, bring calmness and allow us to focus our energy on what matters to us rather than maintaining the tension.
The effects of massage are cumulative and its benefits are being enhanced sessions after session. Practised regularly, Thai Massage help us improve our wellbeing and maintain our body healthy and vibrant for longer. Thai Massage is relaxing and and at the same time invigorating; it is beneficial to men and women alike from infancy upwards. It can be practised by a qualified practitioner on pregnant women throughout pregnancy, please inform your therapist prior to the massage.
Office workers, dancers, body workers, yoga practitioners, sportsmen and sportswomen often seek this type of massage as it allows them to release tension but also to increase flexibility, improve proprioception, address injuries or localised tightness and pain but also as a tool to further develop their skills and their relationship with their body.
Reiki: Reiki healing holds a particular place in my practice and never fails to teach me something new each time I practice it. I love its simplicity, its softness and how deep into our beings it is able to reach. I hold deep sense of appreciation for my teachers for attuning me to this powerful healing technique.
Training, qualifications & experience
Massage: I practice deep tissue No Hands massage at the Advanced level of this new approach to massage. No Hands massage is a type of massage that is more powerful than standard deep tissue but is also very soft and gentle. It feels more comforting and enveloping than most and can address structural issues as well as issues of the body/mind relationship. I am a member of the No Hands Massage Association since 2013.
Aromatherapy: I am a Clinical Aromatherapist and Therapeutic Massage practitioner. I gained my qualifications from the Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy (ITHMA) based in London. ITHMA is renowned for the quality of his teaching with many teachers being practitioners of international standing. I was taught by Gabriel Mojay a leading authority on the application of Oriental Medicine to Aromatherapy.
Craniosacral Therapy: I qualified from The College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy in London in 2011 under Thomas Attlee. I work with adults and children alike. I tend to specialise working with babies and children using a pre and perinatal/Birth Therapy approach.
Thai Massage: I practice Thai Massage since 2012 after qualifying at Morley College with Paul Drinkwater. Since then, I have gained a lot of experience working at my home practice and in music festivals over the summer. This has allowed me to practice on a variety of people I would not otherwise have met in my practice.
Reiki: Reiki healing holds a particular place in my practice and never fails to teach me something new each time I practice it. I love its simplicity, its softness and how deep into our beings it is able to reach. I hold deep sense of appreciation for my teachers (Sandy Catford and Eva Kretschmar) for attuning me to this powerful healing technique. I am attuned to level II.
