The Bowen Technique (Bowtech) is a gentle and effective non-invasive form of muscle and connective tissue therapy. A state of relaxation is created with minimal touch, the unique nature of the moves elicits a whole-body response. The technique can be performed effectively through light, loose clothing with the client laying on a comfortable treatment couch, but can be done on clients who are seated. Conditions treated include back and neck pain, knee and hip restrictions, 'frozen shoulder', 'tennis' elbow, migraines and headaches, jaw and TMJ pain and stress and anxiety.

Training, qualifications & experience
Fully qualified, advanced practitioner with many years' experience of treating people with this amazing therapy. Cornelis abides by the strict BAUK code of ethics and also the requirements for qualifications and continued professional development.
Specialist further education includes Bowen-NLP and Bowen-Mind-Body-Connections which has provided me with additional effective tools to assist clients.
Over the years a specialism has been developed for treating TMJ problems, a conditions relating to jaw problems, specifically at the joint (TMJ) in front of the ears where top and bottom jaw meet. Any problems at this highly delicate joint often result in terrific pain and a limited range to separate top and bottom jaw.
Also advise relating to teeth grinding and jaw clenching is within the remit of my Bowen treatments.
A typical course consists of 3 - 5 individual, hourly treatments only.
Early morning, evening and Saturday appointments are available.
Also home visits can be arranged where an additional fee is payable to account for travel time / cost.

"The Bowen Technique- which seems too gentle to have any effect - can help with problems such as backache and migraine, often when medicine cant. Bowen therapists work on the fascia, the connective tissue that wraps around muscles [and organs, which they believe can become twisted and cause pain, often somewhere else as the body compensated for the original injury. Kylie Minogue, Frances Osborne and adventurer Bear Grylls all testify to the positive effects of The Bowen Technique."
If you have been diagnosed with or suspect you may have a pre-existing medical condition you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies, treatments or making any major changes in your diet or exercise programme.
