About me

Physiotherapists have a large preventative, educative and supportive role to play for people living with and surviving cancer and Physiotherapy Cancer Care aims to provide this to its clients. Physiotherapy Cancer Care was set up and launched in 2009, as part of the practice development for a Doctorate in Professional Practice. This service aims to support and care for people living with cancer through evidence based practice to meet the needs of those living with and surviving cancer. This service is therefore evolving and developing through feedback from those who attend and receive the services provided by Physiotherapy Cancer Care. As well as treating people on an individual basis Physiotherapy Cancer Care also provides contracts out to local hospices / organisations to help them develop their services for people living with cancer.

Services provided by Physiotherapy Cancer Care include: The Non-pharmacological approach to breathlessness; Rehabilitative care; Stress and anxiety management; The Non-pharmacological approach to pain management; Group sessions and Moving and handling advice
