My passion for Reflexology began more than 15 years ago after receiving a treatment from a friend of mine. When I met Maureen Burgess in 2007 I immediately knew that her course is the one that I will take to be a qualified as Reflexologist. I qualified the following year and my passion has just grown since.
Reflexology, or zone therapy, is the practice of stimulating points on the feet, hands, or ears, in the belief it will have a beneficial effect on some other parts of the body, or will improve general health. The most common form is foot reflexology.
The foot is divided into a number of reflex zones corresponding to all parts of the body, and that applying pressure to tight or "gritty" areas of a person's foot will stimulate the corresponding body part and cause it to begin healing itself.
The technique is both old and new. From ancient illustrations we know that the early Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Russians and Egyptians worked on the feet to promote good health. Today many of the same techniques have been developed into a modern scientific method called reflexology.
I integrate Auricular Therapy/Ear Acupuncture into my Reflexology practice.
