As a Clinician in private practice she has a special interest in women’s health, with particular interest in cosmetic acupuncture, dermatology, infertility and cancer prevention. She is a Member of the Acupuncture Fertility Net-work and London Acupuncture Childbirth Team - ACT London. She lectures in Cosmetic Acupuncture and runs a private on-line forum, The Acuregen Cosmetic Acupuncture Network, working towards continued development and safe practice as well as research projects.
Amanda offers treatments to support or instead of acupuncture, including magnetic therapy with Nikken products,LED Light therapy, advanced acupressure massage, applisonix ultrasound hair removal, Ionitherme facial and body cellulite reduction treatments. She has a range of Acuregen natural cosmetics.
Training, qualifications & experience
Amanda is a Practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She is joint head of research and development as well as a senior lecturer for the College of Chinese Medicine, London. In her role as Vice Chairman of The Acupuncture Society, a professional society of TCM practitioners, she is representing her members on The Acupuncture Stakeholder Group (ASG), and The Microsystems Acupuncture Regulatory Working Group (MARWG), currently working towards voluntary self regulation under the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). Amanda has recently been re-appointed as a member of the Profession Specific Board (PSB) for the CNHC.
Amanda is committed to promoting the integration of acupuncture into the NHS and developing scientific CAM research methods. Her collaboration with award-winning Get Well UK and departments within the NHS Research Consortium resulted in a successful and ground breaking conference in October 2007 exploring the complexity of evidence base research, commissioning of CAM services and the possibility of integrated clinical studies. In June 2008 she represented acupuncture alongside hypnotherapy in a debate at the UK National Smoking Cessation conference.
