Alison Rookes Reflexologist (MAR)
9 Orchard Way
Bury St. Edmunds
I am a fully qualified reflexologist (MAR). I offer both feet and hand treatments (where treating the feet is contra-indicated). My treatments can either be for general relaxation and wellbeing, or I can tailor them specifically to target particular conditions. I have a special interest in women's health and I have undertaken post-graduate training in pre-conception and pregnancy reflexology.
Reflexology is a wonderful, non-invasive therapy which helps to promote deep relaxation and a great sense of well-being in those receiving treatments. It is thought that reflexology can 'unblock' energy pathways in the body and allow the body to heal itself.
Reflexology is well tolerated and can be particularly beneficial to clients suffering from stress-related conditions such as insomnia, headaches, low energy, tiredness, low moods. It can also help with pain relief for many different conditions such as arthritis and fibromyalgia.
Training, qualifications & experience
I was trained at the London School of Reflexology by its founder, Louise Keet, one of the leading reflexologists in the UK today (and author of 'The Reflexology Bible'). I have since studied A.R.T. - Advanced Reflexology Techniques (as devised and adapted by the internationally renowned reflexologist Tony Porter) and undergone further training in reflexology for pre-conception and pregnancy. I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists. I am on the register of the Complementary Natural Healthcare Council.
I started my practice in South Cambridgeshire, but relocated to West Suffolk in August 2014.
I work from home in Horringer, just outside Bury St Edmunds. I have a dedicated, comfortable treatment room in my garden, which is peaceful and secluded and overlooked by ancient woodland.
There if ample off-road parking.
Accredited register membership
I charge £30 per treatment (approx.1 hour although the first treatment is a little longer) and offer a 10% discount when a course of 6 treatments is booked and paid for in advance.
If you have been diagnosed with or suspect you may have a pre-existing medical condition you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies, treatments or making any major changes in your diet or exercise programme.
