Alice is a qualified western herbalist and Naturopath practising in Horam, Peacehaven, Brighton and Sheffield park. Her treatment room is a beautiful yurt in Horam and Sheffield park or sometimes a shepherds hut, kept warm with a wood stove in winter adding to the back to nature approach she abides by. Consultations also available at About Balance in the South Lanes; Brighton and at Peacehaven Chiropractic.
The initial consultation will last between 1-2 hours and will include full medical history, diet and lifestyle, tongue and pulse diagnosis plus blood pressure check up and other necessary diagnostics. Follow up appointments will last approx 30mins.
Herbal medicine can help with such a broad range of ailments such as digestive and bowel problems, Allergies, anxiety and emotional problems, skin rashes and eczema, autoimmune conditions such as CFS, psoriasis, and Fibromyalgia plus more acute issues like coughs and colds. If you are unsure if herbal medicine will be able to help you, feel free to call me to discuss. I will not hesitate to refer you on to your doctor when necessary.
Healing is based on naturopathic principles, thus treating the cause of disease and not just suppressing the symptoms. Modern naturopathy is becoming increasingly evidence based, thus combining a scientific approach with traditional healing principles.
Herbal medicine will be prescribed in the form of either tinctures, teas, creams, syrups, tonics, capsules or powders depending on what's best for the individual case. Medicines will be posted to you or collection/drop off will be arranged. Current medications and all contraindications taken fully into account. If you'd like to get your health back on track, gain more energy and vitality then lets' work together to restore harmony and reach those health goals.
Alice is just starting up a large medicinal growing project in Horam, where you can come along to volunteer and learn about plants at the same time on either Tuesdays or some Fridays. Herb celebration days will also be hosted kicking off with Nettle day on Sunday 3rd April 2016. Alice is passionate about raising awareness of 'at risk' or endangered species of herbs and seed sovereignty and there will be a focus for these important issues at the Horam garden.
Alice runs regular herb walks and full day workshops plus programmes for home education children, weaving in foraging, practical medicine making and bushcraft skills into her full day events.
Alice will soon be launching a brand new herb box scheme based on community supported herbalism projects that are popular in America. Quarterly herb boxes containing 3-6 ready made herbal products such as seasonal tonics, tea blends, creams, ointments, oxymels and syrups. Precise details on how to recreate each product again yourself as part of this home herbal study. Helping everyone to live a healthy herbal way of life. Plant identification and foraging tips included. The boxes are for collection or delivered direct to your door. Visit my website to find out more, drop me an email or sign up to my newsletter to stay tuned for launch date.
