Many individuals who are frequently plagued by migraines are turning to acupuncture for relief. This age old therapy has proven extremely effective both long and short term and treatment comes without the side effects of some conventional medicines.
Back in 2004 the British Medical Journal revealed that in a three month study of over 400 adults who had regular headaches, participants who received acupuncture treatment experienced fewer overall headaches and were also able to use less medication and pay fewer visits to their GP.
Additional studies have shown similar positive results, for example a review appearing in The Cochrane Library also found that acupuncture effectively reduced the number of headaches participants experienced.
